Founder & Master Carpenter at Demex Decks
Andrew has been working in construction since 2002 — long before composite decking became the GTA standard. He started with custom outdoor structures and frame homes across southern Ontario, developing the structural instincts that now define every Demex Decks build: proper footings, correct ledger attachment, and framing that handles Toronto’s freeze-thaw cycles without flexing or pulling away from the house.
In 2010, Andrew co-founded Demex Decks with Artem Snitko. Since then, the company has completed more than 300 decks and 200+ outdoor projects across the Greater Toronto Area — from straightforward pressure-treated builds in Aurora and Newmarket to multi-level composite installations in Richmond Hill, Woodbridge, and Markham.
Andrew’s background in wood-frame construction gives him an edge on projects where other deck builders hesitate: second-storey walkout decks, structural balcony replacements, builds on sloped lots, and any project that requires an engineering review before permits are pulled. He’s familiar with the building departments across York Region, Peel, and the City of Toronto — and knows what inspectors look for on final sign-off.
Andrew holds TrexPro Platinum and TimberTech Authorized Contractor certifications, is a certified Fiberon installer, and carries full WSIB coverage. Demex Decks has maintained a 5-star HomeStars rating under his watch.
On every project, Andrew handles the site assessment, structural decisions, and permit submissions. His view: a deck built to last in this climate needs to be engineered like a house addition — not assembled like furniture.
Recent projects include a composite multi-level deck in Richmond Hill, a cedar and glass-railing build in Stouffville, and a walkout deck replacement in Scarborough.
